Permaculture is a design system based on ethics. The principles of which can be used to guide individuals, households, and communities towards a sustainable future. Permaculture includes all aspects of life, including but not limited to agriculture, water management, waste management, green building, and efficient use of energy.
“Permaculture is a philosophy of working with, rather than against nature; of protracted & thoughtful observation rather than protracted & thoughtless labour; of looking at plants & animals in all their functions, rather than treating any area as a single-product system.”
A big mahalo to The Food Park Project for contributing the following What is Permaculture? content to Maui Food Forests’ website.
